Stilton Chicken with Wine

Gabby Toward, a resident of Melton Mowbray also won a prize in the Melton Times recipe contest. This time for a Sunday dinner casserole ready for guests or just a quiet day with family. 


  • 6 pieces of chicken (breasts are good)
  • 1 large can of condensed chicken soup
  • 1/2 bottle of white wine
  • Up to 1 lb. (454gm) Stilton (start with 1/2 lb and add according to taste)


1 Preheat oven to 325 degrees F or 160 degrees C.

2 Place chicken pieces in large casserole dish (with lid), add soup made up according to instructions.

3 Add wine

4 Crumble Stilton and mix in with chicken soup and wine.

5 Place lid on casserole and cook for 2 hours or until the chicken is cooked. Stir during cooking.

6 Serve with fresh vegetables of your choice.

Serves 6
